~30daychallenge was originally started in 2008 by *DominiqueFung, this year in 2009 ~sc-parade and =HowlSeage took over until commitment overload meant that =ShatteredSwords took over the organizational aspect of this challenge. Therefore on this account =ShatteredSwords is the one organizing everything so should you have a question note her main account. :heart:

What am I talking about?
Basically, this is a challenge to do an illustration or painting or sculpture (or whatever it is you people do) for every single day for a period of 30 days.
However, the pieces have to be at a level of completion that fits in with the rest of your gallery (ie. don't post something you just sketched up quickly nor a piece you're not proud of).
You can draw whatever you want though! If you have a tough time thinking of a theme or something, we can provide suggestions.

When is it?
We are starting July 1st.
It ends July 31st

How do we post?
In the title of your piece, please start it off with "DAY # -" then the actual name of the piece, so it's easy to organize. Go in order, and if you miss a day, just make for it another day :)

Every few days, I'll update a journal with a list of links to the pieces you guys have worked on!

Why should we do this?
I did this last year, and I think it helped me improve EXPONENTIALLY. Also, since it's a group of us doing this, you get to meet a lot of neat people and the support is really good motivation to keep going.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this event! Whether you got to one or to thirty you made an effort and did a great job! Special acknowledgment to those who made it all the way and to those who kept going no matter how much trouble they were having keeping up. We all know real life gets in the way sometimes but to those who soldiered on you all did a great job! I will be updating ~30daychallenge at some point with all the entries so if you'd like to watch that space hopefully by week's end everything will be faved there! I have some ideas for future challenges.

Like themed ones.

An alphabet theme challenge
where you do a picture for each letter of the alphabet and the challege would last for only 26 days.
Maybe that's ideal for Feb.

And a mini rainbow challenge
where a picture is done for each color of the rainbow and that would last for 7 days so a week challenge.
